SiliconAndhra ManaBadi will conduct the following 2 games for children as part of the “Literary” stream of NATA Conference 2016 in Dallas, TX. Attractive prizes and merit certificates will be awarded to the winners. Participation certificates will be provided to all participants.
We will have 2 games: Chaduvutha Chakkagaa and Okka Nimisham Maatrame. Chaduvutha Chakkaga will test the skills in reading a given Telugu text. The text will be given on the spot; however, these will be simple text including some well-known stories, articles etc. Okka Nimishan Maatrame will test the ability to speak fluently in Telugu. Topics for speech will include simple well-known topics; e.g., “మా అమ్మ”, “నాకు నచ్చిన భోజన పదార్థం”, “వేసవి సెలవుల్లో ఏమి చేస్తావు?”. Both games will be played against other participants, up to 6 participants in a round. Each participant will have a buzzer in their hands. When a person is reading or speaking, if they make a mistake, the other person will press the buzzer and express their objection. If their objection is valid, then, they take over the chance of reading or speaking. If the objection is invalid, the current player will continue. Each participant get as many marks as they read or speak for. The participant with the highest points wins. More detailed rules will be explaned before the games start. The objective of the game is to promote not only good speaking or reading skills, but also good listening skills, along with good knowledge of Telugu vocabulary, grammar etc.
Preliminary games will be held on Sunday May 29, 2016 from 9 AM to 12 noon in Room C2. Final rounds will be held from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM on Sunday May 29, 2016.
